About the Art:
You know that feeling when you see a scene while driving through the mountains that you just need to capture? That feeling led to stopping by the highway and hurrying to the side of the water to take a photo of this space, then translating it onto the canvas with paints and brushes…the quiet river, the trees living through the seasons and the peace seeping into your bones.

About the Artist
Shanda seeks to capture glimpses of life’s song that she sees in the world around her. The authenticity and wonder of that song is such an elusive and ephemeral melody to capture and the pursuit of it will take more than a lifetime. It’s the thrill of the chase and those moments of glimpsing wonder that draw her in. Can you see the colours with colours and the drama of shadow and light that she does? To express those mysteries makes her soul sing. Whether she’s seeking to express something fresh and new or aged with passing time, there is a fierce and gentle beauty in so many parts of the song.
